We invite applications for a new Digicel Opportunity  - “VAS Senior Engineer

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Operation & Maintenance of USSD platforms
  2. Operation & Maintenance of product support applications
  3. Operation & Maintenance of VAS Messaging platforms (SMS, Voice Mail, MMS)
  4. Create, update and maintain all network plans/diagrams related to platforms and interface platforms/technologies in cooperation with other NSS Groups.
  5. Coordinate activities with commercial teams in relation to the implementation of new services, promotional activations and customer packages.
  6. Coordinate the implementation of new platforms and solutions that manages VAS services
  7. Interface with commercial teams for forecast and projected market growth. Analyze information and make plans for expansion and dimensioning in VAS platforms  
  8. Evaluation of technical solutions related to VAS
  9. Support of acceptance test and operation teams during the implementation of the platforms
  10. Regular reporting to the management of platform status
  11. Propose and evaluate platform optimization actions in cooperation with key VAS teams and analysis of platform statistics. 

 

Academic qualifications and experience required for job:

-          University degree on Engineering or Computer Science.

-          At least 5 years of working experience in VAS or IN either with an operator or a supplier

-          Planning and design experience in VAS or IN area

 

Functional Skills:

-          Profound knowledge and hands on experience with VAS services (USSD services, SMS, Voice mail etc, GPRS), network design & dimensioning.

-          Proven experience with VAS Messing platforms (SMS, MMS, etc)

-          Proven experience in platform support

-          Strong knowledge of Solaris/UNIX/Linux OS and Oracle DB.

-          Knowledge of scripting languages will be a bonus.

-          Project Management experience will be a bonus.

-          An excellent command of written and spoken English
