ACCOUNT MANAGER x 2, DIRECT SERVICES

Background Information 

TNS Direct Services offer an extremely competitive service for exacting clients – from questionnaire design and development, stand alone fieldwork services, through to data tabulation provision. We are known for our quick turnaround, highly efficient and value added service.
Our highly experienced account management team come from either a research background or an operational background with our clients a mix of blue chip corporates and management consultants as well as some advertising, PR and other marketing services agencies.

Job Purpose 

Specifically responsible for the satisfactory completion of projects and within the project plan (in terms of resource/time/cost). Also, to be responsible for the development of good working relations with both current and new clients to ensure the retention and development of business. Proactively reports to divisional management on progress and takes actions necessary to ensure projects develop within the overall divisional plan.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Project and Financial Management

Manage projects on a day to day basis in accordance with the Company’s quality control procedures.
Progress chase, ensuring that Operations departments are aware of requirements and project timings. Timing is critical on these projects and needs careful management.
Deal directly with clients concerning their requirements and keep them informed of job progress on a regular, usually daily basis.
Ensure clients are satisfied with job progress and any variations to job requirements.
Regularly report to line manager on job progress and any variations to job requirements.
Ensure projects are completed cost and time effectively, and show awareness of profitability implications.
Ensure prompt and correct invoicing of clients and help Finance Department to optimise cash flow wherever possible.

Business Development and Other Client Service

To be involved in preparing costs.
To provide clients with advice on sample design, where appropriate.
Ensure clients are satisfied with the services provided using the Company’s client satisfaction initiative.

Teamwork

Cover for absence of other group members.
Works positively as part of a team and as such is flexible and committed to the team, corporate and client objectives.
Gives proactive support to divisional management and to other team members when workloads demand it.
Contribute to team meetings to discuss project progress.
Be prepared to assist in the line management of junior staff within the team.

Other Elements

Attend training courses/seminars etc. as required to develop skills.
Carry out any other tasks that are appropriate to the proper performance of duties.

Person Specification

Experience gained in a quantitative agency, specifically in full time roles which have involved project management.  
Outstanding hands-on project management skills
Basic grounding on Market Research techniques
Sound verbal and written communication skills
A high level of numeracy
Good accuracy, attention to detail and organisational skills
The candidate must have a good working knowledge of fieldwork requirements for projects requiring telephone and face to face interviewing, ideally gained through direct experience of working in an operational fieldwork unit.
