TNS research international Business & Consumer Services (BaCS) is a favoured research supplier for several of the largest and most successful companies in the UK. It also has overseas clients and manages projects across Europe, as well as in Asia Pacific and the Americas. Operating within a growing area of the market research market, it is a successful business with profitable revenue of £3.6 million in 2009 and further growth forecast for 2010 and beyond.
We are a lively and enthusiastic team led by experienced researchers who enjoy sharing their knowledge. We focus on conducting research for companies supplying services to consumers and to businesses. These can range from everyday needs such as water, power and petrol; through on-line directories to business to business activities such as delivery services, office products, business logistics, consultancy services etc. Most of our research is conducted amongst domestic consumers but a significant proportion is also amongst businesses.
The role:
Taking responsibility for the day to day management of market research projects and accounts by delivering in the following areas:
- Involvement in planning and setting up projects.
- Design of questionnaires.
- Analysis of research findings.
- Liaise with and meet clients to form close working relationships.
- Communicate research findings and insight with clarity and vision.
- Involve yourself in understanding the client’s business.
- Approach all projects with creativity and ask “is there a better way”.
- Coming up with the questions that will obtain meaningful findings.
- Enhance existing projects by developing and applying new techniques and methodologies.
Person specification:
- A solid grounding in market research.
- Solid experience of day to day project management from proposal to presentation of results or has experience of the end to end research process from client side.
- Experience as a practitioner of core market research activities such as costing, questionnaire design, survey set up and monitoring or has experience of the end to end research process from client side.
- Proven track record of successful client and/or stakeholder management
- Articulate and credible written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Able to design thoughtful proposals (find the right solutions) and presentations
- A strong practitioner in the interpretation and analysis of data, and confident in the application of appropriate statistical analysis.
- Enthusiasm and personal responsibility for self development
- A drive for results
- Understanding and respect of other cultures, to enhance client solutions and achieve best value for clients.
