Job Details

 

We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Sudbury office.

 

Responsibilities

-       Performs, and is responsible for, varied mechanical engineering assignments requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields;

-       Solve problems by use of combinations of standard and modified standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments;

-       Participate in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives;

-       Responsible for supervising large groups of professionals and non-professionals or small groups of specialized engineers or as a highly specialized technical engineer in servicing heavy industrial clients in the Mining sector;

-       The ability to lead large or small projects is an asset.

 

Requirements

-       Previous Mining and/or Consulting Engineering experience is critical;

-       Strong communication skills;

-       The ability to document and track project tasks and related design documents;

-       Knowledge of Process Piping, Materials Handling, Mechanical Drive, Underground and Surface Pumping, Backfill systems, Crusher and foundations, and HVAC;

-       Experience in communicating with other design disciplines and having an appreciation for the impact of their designs on other design disciplines is an asset;

-       Must have strong computer oriented skills (familiarity with Autocad, MS Office, Numerical Methods Solutions...);

-       University Degree in Mechanical Engineering. And a minimum of ten (10) to twelve (12) years of related engineering and/or administrative experience;

-       Registration as a Professional Engineer is mandatory.
