Job Details
We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Sudbury office.
Responsibilities - Performs, and is responsible for, varied mechanical engineering assignments requiring experienced familiarity with a broad field of engineering including the knowledge of reciprocal effects upon other disciplines/fields; - Solves problems using combinations of standard and modified standard procedures or by using methods developed in previous assignments; - Participates in the planning required to achieve prescribed objectives; - Assumes responsibility for either supervising large groups of professionals and non-professionals or small groups of specialized engineers or as a highly specialized technical engineer in servicing heavy industrial clients within the mining sector; and - Demonstrates the ability and has previous experience leading both large and small projects.
Requirements - Previous Mining and/or Consulting Engineering experience is a critical asset; - Demonstrates strong communication skills; - Willingness to travel for business; - The ability to document and track project tasks and related design documentation; - Knowledge of Process Piping, Materials Handling, Mechanical Power Transmission, Underground and Surface Pumping, Backfill Systems, Crusher and Foundations, and HVAC; - Experience in communicating with other design disciplines and understands the impact of their designs on other design disciplines; - Strong computer-oriented skills including familiarity with Autocad, MS Office, Numerical Methods Solutions, etc; - University Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of ten (10) to twelve (12) years of related engineering and/or administrative experience; and - Registration as a Professional Engineer is mandatory.
