Job Details We are currently looking for an Intermediate Civil Designer for our office in Saskatoon, Sudbury or Toronto. Responsibilities -Producing mining and related civil engineering drawings such as roadway and site plan/profiles, services, cross-sections, details, and sketches, produce material quantity takeoffs. -Manipulating and managing electronic survey data received from others for the purposes of design and drafting; -Organizing electronic and hardcopy drawing and related data files -Working with other Wardrop team members in the delivery of company and project initiatives related to engineering design and drafting. -The candidate will be able to work with flexibility, while maintaining high standards and quality work. -The applicant must have excellent English communication skills; must be well organized; able to work independently while maintaining close contact at all times with his/her immediate supervisor. -The candidate will be capable of working in a fast paced environment. Proficiency in the use of drafting software, and other standard office software is a must. Experience in the Mining sector will be an asset. The successful candidate will foster an environment that generates professionalism, technical excellence, accuracy and timeliness. Requirements - Advanced knowledge of Civil 3D design software -Diploma or Certificate from a recognized Civil engineering or technology institution with 4-7 years of Drafting and Design experience. -Experience in the mining sector will be an asset -Experience with electronic survey data manipulation and file management; quantity takeoffs and estimates -Experience preparing large graphic presentation materials such as site plans for clients and experience with computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting tools and software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D an asset -Must be able to work well within team -Must possess strong communication skills Wardrop has been recognized as an industry-leading employer by being selected as a Top 100 Employer in Canada as well as a Best Employer of New Canadians repeatedly in recent years.
