Job Details
 
The Electrical Staff Manager manages and coordinates the Saskatoon/Sudbury Electrical team and works with other sites in the delivering of electrical design services.
 
In this role, the Electrical Staff manager oversees the technical members of his/her group in coordinating the personnel working on the different projects and their interactions with the other engineering disciplines and other electrical teams.
 
The Electrical Staff Manager is responsible for the local operating budget preparation and control, human resources administrations, contract accounting and resource aligning.  They are also intricately involved in quality, complete and on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, employee relations, team coordination, mentoring and other company performance measures.
 
The Electrical Staff Manager is also assigned to work as a member of a team to accomplish engineering projects for our clients.
 
The Staff Manager is able to deal with uncertainty, forecasting how long the undertaking will last, what it will cost and what problems might arise.
 
Responsibilities

Technical

-       Assist, support and/or direct larger projects;
-       Responsible for administrative functions including advising on projects and proposals and long range plans,     developing programs and establishing objectives and priorities;
-       Controls the quality of documents produced by subordinates;
-       Coordinates the preparation of disbursement reports, special analyses, and information reports including manpower requirements.


Staff Management
-       Maintains a favourable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment;
-       Responsibilities include identifying, interviewing, hiring, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems;
-       Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of their group of staff and allocates staff and resources with the Mining Divisional Manager, Electrical;
-       May assist or assign a subordinate to the Project Manager and/or Project Engineer in determining project objectives, schedules and budgets;
-       Able to co-ordinate multiple site teams for the completion of assigned projects and assign people to multiple site teams.
 
Business Development
-       Works with divisional and corporate business development professionals in identifying opportunities for expansion in both existing and new business areas.
 
Requirements
-       Bachelor’s (B.Sc.) degree or equivalent from a recognized college or university with a minimum of seven to ten years broad and extensive technical, administrative and project experience.
