Wardrop is seeking an Electrical Technologist for our Mining Division. The successful applicant will work under the direction of the Electrical Staff Manager and will be responsible for preparing and updating electrical and/or control drawings. Key Duties and Responsibilities: · Design of power distribution systems, lighting, transformers, motor control centers, · Preparation and review of design packages including drawings, calculations, technical specifications, bills of material and cost estimation. · Prepare technical reports and analysis · Complete work assignments in a timely efficient manner with a strong emphasis on technical accuracy Qualifications: · Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from a recognized College or university. · Experience with AutoCAD. CAD 3D or CADwoks 3D is considered an asset · 5-7 years experience in electrical engineering design. Previous experience in mining, industrial process or power generation/distribution industries is a definite asset. · Knowledge, electrical analysis software (e.g. Etap) and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access). · Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational skills. · Experience in technical report writing would be an asset. · Work well in a diverse team environment. Able to work independently and provide guidance and support. Must be self-motivated and results oriented. · A willingness to work in a team atmosphere. · Previous experience in a consulting / or mining environment is not essential, but is considered an asset.
