Job Details

 

We are currently looking for a Manager of Business Development for Latin America.  This Manager is responsible for leading the sales process and manages the efforts of our sales and business development teams in the creation of new business with existing clients and the capture of new client business within Latin America. This is a senior role responsible for business development, sales and marketing activities within the region of Latin America and based in Santiago, Chile working directly with our local partner company, Alquimia.

 

Key Duties

 

-     Sales and Marketing: Works with Tetra Tech Mining and Minerals (TtMM) and Wardrop’s Mining and Minerals Division (WMM) and the Business Development teams within TtMM and WMM to identify market opportunities. Assists the Business Development Groups in branding and support of the corporate vision, and preparation of their business development plans and budgets. Pro-actively search for target industries and establish communications with those businesses that can benefit from TtMM and WMM products and services.

-     Customer Satisfaction and Improvement: Collaborating with TtMM and WMM to implement business and strategic plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the international growth objectives of the both groups within Latin America.

-     Long Range Business Planning: Works with all business development groups to create financial projections for growth and profitability of all business activities and acquisitions. Collaborates with the TtMM and WMM teams to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of both organization.

-     Community Association: Present the ‘Face of Wardrop’ through, constant awareness of potential opportunities for new and additional work; through the identification, pursuit and development of new regional, local and global industry contacts. Ensuring external visitors, clients, and staff from other offices are welcomed, supported, and properly hosted. Co-coordinating regional/local community relations, business advocacy, and charitable activities.

-     Strategic Business Partner: Maximizes organizational capability by developing, implementing, and communicating strategies that directly impact business results and employees. Works with the Mining Division Executive Leadership Team (ELT) in the execution of division wide initiatives that have local impact.

 

Responsibilities:

-     Implements a comprehensive internal and external marketing plan, process and systems to increase revenues and profits including account management strategies for Blue Chip and potential Blue Chip clients within Latin America.

-     Drives the South American strategy (a sub-initiative to the Tt Mining Initiative).

-     Coordinates Latin American business development groups to estimate demand for proposed projects based on market research and consumer trends.

-     Co-ordinates the business development groups and assists them to plan marketing and promotion activities.

-     Actively identify, pursue and develop new business opportunities within Latin America.

-     Represents TtMM and WMM with clients, investors, and business partners in Latin America.

-     Further develop multi-product/services relationships to organically grow existing business with current customers within Latin America.

-     Ensure an increasing regional competitiveness and market share through the development and procurement of regional and strategic projects.

-     Act as a liaison with Business Development to identify opportunities and participants for regional/local client events and conferences.

-     Supports the identification, pursuit and development new business opportunities within Latin America.

-     Is a representative of TtMM and WMM with clients, investors, and business partners in Latin America.

 

Qualifications:

-     Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, ideally in marketing or business from a recognized college or university. An MBA is preferred.

-     15+ years experience in the Mining industry, with extensive experience in technical, general management and business development work.

-     Strong leadership and team-management skills.

-     Significant experience working in an operations, business development and general management background. Experience working with clients and partners globally, and with knowledge or international economies and markets as they relate to mining and the mining industry.

-     Must have experience in creating business partnerships within Latin America.

-     Ability to organize and manage a diverse work groups to accomplish business goals.

-     Strong project management skills.

-     Fluent in Spanish and English, including verbal and written communication skills. Portuguese would be a strong asset.
