Applications are invited for the position of Finance Director. This appointment will be made on a 2 year renewable contract basis. The main purpose of this position is to get financial systems set up and Hub personnel trained.
Reporting to: Camara Finance Director, Dublin and Head of Camara Africa.
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall financial management of the Camara African hubs to ensure that they are operating efficiently and effectively within the resources available. This will entail putting in place systems and procedures
The role includes the provision of accurate financial and statistical information to the executive team and the board for each hub where Camara has a presence in Africa. The critical purpose of this role is to ensure that through advice, information analysis and support all budgets are managed and reported on within agreed budgets.
· Develop Hub financial and MIS systems · Assist CEO's with their budgets · Develop audit practice · Manage Camara Africa HQ accounts · Research and understand in-country tax laws/work permits/insurance
Person Specification:
Essential
* A recognised professional accounting qualification, with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a challenging Financial Management role. * Strong academic record with a history of continuous professional development. * Possess sufficient technical and administrative skills to effectively carry out the specified tasks of the role. * Excellent budgeting and cost management skills in a multicultural environment and advantage * Strong commercial and strategic acumen with a proven ability to work effectively as part of a multicultural team * Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills a must. * Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. * High level of computer literacy and working knowledge of financial and budgetary modelling systems is a must. * Confident and energetic individual with experience working in a dynamic, diverse & demanding environment essential * Ability to work on own initiative and make decisive decisions.
