Please note due to funding restrictions only EU passport holders can be considered for the Camara Long-Term volunteer programme.  As part of the recruitment process Camara require candidates to attend interviews and training weeks/weekends in Dublin and other parts of Ireland.  Candidates will be required to cover the cost of their own travel and accommodation.

HIV/AIDS Respect Project Manager


The Project Manager will be responsible for training teachers across Lesotho to use Camara's HIV/AIDS Respect software and accompanying teacher's manual. They will be responsible for taking a baseline survey of HIV/AIDS education among secondary schools children. The objective of the project is to improve this level of knowledge among the target group across the country.

Reporting to: Principal Development Officer, Dublin

Location: Lesotho

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

-  Secure Government approval to roll out the project across Lesotho

-  Fully understand the Camara ethos and how the HIV/AIDS Respect Project will add value to Camara's work

-  Undertake a baseline study to assess student knowledge of the material in the software

-  Establish contact with all secondary schools in Lesotho and train teachers from each

-  Disseminate the CD-ROM and Teacher's Manual to every secondary school in Lesotho

-  Work with Government to promote the project and extend its use

-  Work with local and international NGOs and communities to promote and extend the impact of the project

-  Train a local teacher to continue the project after the initial period

-  Work with Principal Development Officer to make a thorough evaluation of the impact of the project
