Please note due to funding restrictions only EU passport holders can be considered for the Camara Long-Term volunteer programme. As part of the recruitment process Camara require candidates to attend interviews and training weeks/weekends in Dublin and other parts of Ireland. Candidates will be required to cover the cost of their own travel and accommodation.
Learning Officers (1 to 2 Positions)Reporting to the Learning Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing our Technology Enhanced Learning (TeL) programme. This role will involve working alongside local schools and educators to help promote an understanding of the role of ICT in Education. The role will involve developing content and training materials to ensure they are relevant to the local curriculum and culture.
You will have experience / track record of working and delivering training in education sector. Allied to that experience, you will have excellent presentation, communication and planning skills. In addition, you should have some knowledge of the Primary or Secondary Education system.
Self motivation, enthusiasm, creativity and commitment to equality and education are a must, along with the ability to work on your own initiative.
Reporting to: Learning Coordinator, Glasgow Location: African HQ, Uganda
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Research local technology learning requirements and relevance to local curriculum * Ensure training activities are planned and coordinated in accordance with identified objectives * Manages the process of continuous improvement of training materials, models, and tools * Liaise with local Teacher Training colleges to promote 'Teaching with ICT' * Get Camara's TEL program integrated into main stream curriculum * Promote OpenSource software and technology as a tool to learning * Work with Training Team to deliver Camara ICT skill training and ICT in education training * Ensure that training records and systems are available and maintained up-to-date.
