The Physical Oceanography Department is searching for a Research Associate I/II to join their team. This is a regular full-time position and is eligible for benefits.
This is a Woods Hole based position.
Salary for this position begins at $48,485/annually
Processing, quality control and management of physical oceanographic data for a variety of instruments (primarily profiling and moored CTD and current meters) in support of several ongoing field projects. The position requires strong computer and programming skills, including the ability to work in Matlab, Linux/UNIX and PC environments, to utilize existing software and to write new code to accomplish specific data management tasks.
The position requires demonstrated proficiency in structured programming (Matlab and/or C), excellent organizational skills, and the willingness and ability to go to sea.
Master's Degree in a related field. Specific knowledge and/or experience in physical oceanography will be helpful and will determine level of hire.
Physical duties for this position include but are not limited to extended periods at sea.
Must be able to obtain TWIC card.
