Description
The Facilities Department is searching for 2 Security Guards to join their team. These are regular part-time positions and are eligible for benefits. The working hours for this position will vary and will include overnight shifts. Our Security Guards are available 24 hours a day. There may be times when you are requested to cover different shifts.

JOB SUMMARY:

Functions as a security guard to patrol and protect Institution employees, students, guests, visitors and property. They will also perform various other tasks to insure that Science completes its mission and any other duties that the supervisor deems necessary.

Previous security experience is helpful but will train the right candidate. Some mechanical ability is also necessary.

Must possess a valid Mass Driver's license. Must be able to obtain a TWIC card within three months of start date to maintain the position as a security guard.

Physical duties for this position include but are not limited to ability to climb multiple levels of stairs and walk for extended periods of time during each shift. Ability to communicate by radio, cell phone and/or regular phone required. Visual abilities to include depth perception, ability to see peripherally, ability to adjust vision to bring objects into focus, ability to distinguish basic colors. Ability to distinguish changes or abnormal mechanical equipment noise and respond to a variety of alarms. Frequent  prolonged standing/walking, manual dexterity/mobility, use of hands for basic grasping/manipulation, occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching. May be exposed to excessive cold, excessive heat/humidity, dust or other irritants, severe weather conditions, prolonged working hours. Physical duties are subject to change.

EDUCATION DESIRED:

High School Diploma or equivalent
