With more than 46 stores across the UK, Evans Cycles is one of the country’s largest quality cycling retailers. When Evans became a client of Candidate Manager in late 2010, the company was experiencing growth in the region of 8%, and demand for quality applicants was increasing. Evans needed to:
- Eliminate the use of word, excel and outlook and move to an online, automated solution
- Manage their seasonal hiring in a more constructive manner
- Sift out and easily identify the candidates that did not meet their basic criteria
The Solution
Evans Cycles implemented Candidate Manager resulting in a number of significant benefits. A branded careers page was created to provide a simpler user interface between employer and applicant, improving the candidate experience. The automated software has replaced Excel, Word and the need to manually write emails and the reporting suite has been designed to provide a comprehensive analysis of each stage of the hiring process.
Results
Within twelve months of implementation, Evans Cycles achieved the following business results:
- 3,460 applicants progressed through its system, of which 65% were automatically filtered out as they did not meet the basic requirements for the particular role
- 71% of hires came from the new and improved careers website
- Comprehensive reporting on key metrics has helped identify the best sources for applicants
