Purpose/Objective:
Support the SVP, Risk Management & Policy and FVP, Enterprise Risk Officer in the development, operation and advancement of the Company’s enterprise risk management (ERM) program.  Manage and mentor lower-level ERM analysts and provide internal risk consulting to business line management.  Analyze and evaluate complex risks and apply advanced knowledge of risk management techniques and tools to mitigate risks.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Oversee the core risk management responsibilities and risk-related initiatives that support the Company’s gathering, analysis, and executive reporting of risk and the associated risk mitigation efforts.  Analyze complex data, root causes, and trends that could result in risk to the organization. Identify material risks and escalate early warning signs that might indicate changes in the Company’s risk profile.  Summarize results in timely memorandums and reports, including dashboards, charts, graphs, and/or other visualizations.     
  • Research, monitor, and evaluate emerging risks and propose best practices and solutions for identifying, measuring, monitoring, and controlling Material Business Risks.  Conduct other risk assessments on projects/programs, initiatives, and strategies related to Company goals and objectives, collecting and analyzing data and educating stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with the FVP, Enterprise Risk Officer to develop, implement, and manage enterprise-wide risk reporting intended to monitor and report the company’s Material Business Risks in relation to adopted Risk Appetite Statements.  Support the development and ongoing production of risk management reports and presentations for meetings with senior leadership and relevant risk committees.
  • Provide oversight and direction to lower-level analysts.  Determine appropriate assignments based on their level of expertise and professional background. Coach analysts to identify, measure, and monitor existing and emerging risks.
  • Serve as a risk advisor across the organization.  Work with business units/risk partners to gather risk-related data from internal or external resources.  Collaborate with business units to identify, develop, and track quantitative and qualitative risk and performance indicators.
  • Additional Accountabilities
    • Adopt and promote the risk culture of the company as outlined in the ERM Program.
    • Assist in the development of procedures to support assigned job functions.
    • Continually expand knowledge of ERM best practices by attending seminars, reading business publications, and pursuing professional designations.
    • Assume additional responsibilities and duties as necessary to ensure department objectives are met.
    • Ensure compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one’s duties.
    • Assist the Chief Risk Officer on special assignments to assess complex, emerging, or unique risks.
Education:
  • Four-year college degree with preference for a major in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent.
Experience:
  • Minimum 5+ years of banking experience
  • Experience in various risk management, audit, compliance areas required
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize work, and maintain multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver quality work in a timely fashion in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of experience.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • PC Skills including Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively to direct and motivate.
  • Ability to relate business process to technology.
