Job Overview

We are looking for an Automation Engineer with Japanese language skills to join the Global Business & Technology Solutions (GBTS) team to provide testing services and support to the GBTS division within Prudential Financial, Inc.

The selected candidate will join a team responsible for the automation of Windows 10 OS testing for the Japanese Business Unit.

Windows 10 is an operating system developed by Microsoft to receive ongoing updates to its features and functionality, augmented with the ability for enterprise environments to receive non-critical updates at a slower pace, or use long-term support milestones that will only receive critical updates, such as security patches, over their five-year lifespan of mainstream support. 

The role of the successful Automation Engineer will be to develop an automated regression test bed covering the base functionality across Japanese Business Units to ensure no adverse effects from Windows 10 OS updates.

Good communication skills in both Japanese and English language are essential and the ability to work proactively both independently and as part of a team are essential. 

Position Requirements And Education:

The ideal candidate should have a recognized third level IT qualification minimum 1 year software development/ automation experience.

Experience in the following technologies is essential:

  • Java, HTML & Javascript
  • Selenium Webdriver, UFT, VBScript
  • ANT or Maven
  • SQL
  • English and Japanese Language & writing skills

The following would be a distinct advantage:

  • Jenkins
  • Powershell
  • Experience with GIT/Bitbucket, SVN or Dimensions
  • Familiar with AGILE Software Development
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • LOMA Accredited
  • Good testing and automation skills
  • Capable of producing documented requirements or user stories, developing designs, preparing and executing test plans.
  • Able to demonstrate initiative, team skills, and hard work

This position may require travel.

Key responsibilities would include (but not limited to) the following:

  • Code development
  • Unit/Smoke/Regression Testing
  • Production of Systems level documentation
  • Contribution to code/peer reviews
  • Contribution to & attendance of walkthrough and other meetings – including documents, requirements, test plans etc.
  • Analysis of business requirements & solution identification
  • Application configuration, workflow management & troubleshooting
  • Test support during test phases
  • Production support including following up on user queries & requests, analysis of production issues etc.
  • Adherence to coding standards and Prudential/ Pramerica compliance requests.
