Network Administrator

Job Purpose:
Working as part of the Information & Technology Unit the successful candidate will be a key member of the IT Infrastructure Team providing support and management of IDA’s IT infrastructure. This support includes E-mail and communications tools, servers, networks and security. The role will involve the management of technologies such as Office 365, MS Teams, Active Directory, Microsoft System Centre, Windows Servers, Microsoft Hyper-V, SANs, Fortinet firewalls, iOS devices, Microsoft Azure and other cloud solutions.

Key Tasks:
 
  • Administration of:
    • Microsoft Active Directory on Windows Server 2012 and 2016 network;
    • On premise Skype for Business VoIP solution;        
    • Microsoft Office 365 online environment including Exchange, Teams, Sharepoint;
    • Antivirus, deployment and updates;
    • AD Administrative groups and user access rights;
  • Management and support of IDA’s Global and Core network infrastructure;
  • Configuration and Management of Physical and Hyper-V servers;
  • Ensure network and IP connectivity of all workstations, application servers, and back-end office infrastructure;
  • Identify and remedy network performance bottlenecks to ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of company networks in all offices;
  • Application of security updates and patches to servers and clients;
  • Perform system backups and restores;
  • Monitor Network security;
  • Responsible for documentation regarding network IT infrastructure and operating procedures;
  • Provide backup support to other colleagues in the Infrastructure, Helpdesk and development teams;
  • Maintenance of relationships with external third-party technical teams and vendor suppliers in respect of services and equipment provided and supplied;
  • Management of IT risks and issues, incident resolution, disaster recovery planning and testing;
  • Proactively investigate new technologies available in the industry;
  • Ensuring that continuous learning and development is undertaken through informal and formal learning and participation in the Performance Management and Development Review Process;
  • Ensuring dignity, respect and equality are applied throughout the organisation and that a work life balance in the workplace is supported as much as possible;

Additional Requirements:
 
  • A third level IT related qualification to minimum Degree standard with 2 years’ experience in a network administration role is essential;
  • Knowledge of SCCM, DPM, Defender, PRTG and Microsoft Hyper V is essential;
  • Network management and analysis tools experience - SNMP, WireShark, MRTG, LanGuardian is desired;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Intune is desired;
  • Aspects of this role will require travel and working outside of normal office hours;
  • An up to date current driving licence is desired;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times;
  • Ability to work well under pressure as part of a team, with attention to detail, and on own initiative.
  • To demonstrate flexibility in undertaking additional tasks as may be assigned;
  • To deliver key tasks by ensuring dignity, respect, equality and work life balance in the workplace.
 
Annual Salary: €43,907 (Non-Negotiable)
