Senior Purchase Ledger

The Role: 

As a Purchase Ledger Senior within the Group Finance department, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of purchase ledger activities. Reporting to the Purchase Ledger Manager and working as part of a team of five, you will support the financial operations of the club through timely invoice processing, supplier management, and payment execution.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Accurately processing purchase invoices via the Medius system
  • Reviewing and responding to emails relating to purchase ledger queries and payments
  • Managing and resolving invoices rejected within the Medius system
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries and provide information
  • Handling purchase order queries and tracking pro forma/VAT invoice requirements
  • Producing twice-monthly payment runs and completing ad hoc CHAPS payments
  • Supporting month-end processes, including posting direct debits and standing orders
  • Allocating daily tasks to Purchase Ledger Administrators
  • Completing daily integrations into the accounts system
  • Setting up new suppliers

The Person: 
We are looking for someone who has:
  • Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, subtotals, and data sorting
  • Previous finance or purchase ledger experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving
