Role Requirement 1
People Management
Responsible for the line management, CPD Development and professional supervision of a team responsible for supporting the coordination and implementation of policy initiatives related to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) across the Early Learning and Childcare sector. As the programme develops will involve managing additional team members aligned to new or emerging areas of work.
Ensuring effective teamwork and relations in a team-working context.
Responsible for induction and integration of new staff. Including being responsible for the
induction and training of certified training staff to support them in the delivery of certified training programmes
Ensure the team enjoys credible relationships within and outside the service.
Performance management, general HR and learning and Development.
Coordinate plan and delivery of Better Start programme of continuing professional development.
Work collaboratively with Service Coordinators/Team Leaders to ensure the availability of tutors/trainers for a planned schedule of training annually.
Role Requirement 2
Service Management and Reporting
In collaboration with the National Manager, National Team Lead and Pobal’s service development specialist, develop a service delivery management and monitoring system for the National Early Years Learning & Development Service.
Overseeing the ongoing development and monitoring of the Nurturing Skills Hub and its associated website, quality assuring the content, and ensuring data is effectively monitored and reported to the Department of Children, Disability and Equality.
In collaboration with the National Manager, National Team Lead and Key stakeholders establish and ensure the quality and consistency of training delivery and reporting.
Manage the collation of data at required intervals in required formats and publish reports and thematic reviews on the work of the service.
Support the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
Conduct surveys/thematic studies on programme outcomes/identified themes.
Ensure the programme delivery reflects a strong commitment to service excellence, customer care and Better Start Code of Ethics.
Role Requirement 3
Networking
Liaison, relationship development and briefings with early years professionals in other disciplines and agencies such as; Department of Children, Disability and Equality, HSE, Specialist training providers, the Child & Family Agency -Tusla, ABC programmes, the Department of Education and Skills, National Council for Curriculum and Assessment, National Síolta Aistear Implementation Office, City and County Childcare Committees, Childcare Support Organisations and the community and voluntary sector as relevant to the role.
Attendance at conferences/seminars as a representative of Better Start: National Early Years Learning & Development.
Role Requirement 4
Programme development
In collaboration with the National Manager and National Team Lead manage new developments, projects and changing work practices and the effective implementation of these changes.
Work with the team on the implementation of change and organisational development.
Experience of planning, coordinating and managing training events or similar events at regional or national level, including development of efficient booking and registration system, data collection and analysis, customer service, evaluation and administration. End to end ownership.
