The Opportunity 

We are now seeking a Technology Enablement Manager to join the Future Operations Design Authority team.

As Technology Enablement Manager, your role will be to co-ordinate and drive the integration of new technologies and innovations on the power system. This includes leading the TSO-DSO multi-year programme of work including the continued development and delivery of the future TSO-DSO operating model.

We will look to you to provide subject matter expertise on areas such as the future TSO-DSO operating model, Demand Side Management and Hybrids to the team and wider company as well as presenting externally at key forums.


In your role, you will manage complex projects and co-ordinate strategic plans and will have the opportunity to work across all areas of the business and engage with key decision makers including the Executive Team and the EirGrid Board. 

You will provide technical direction for the team, allocating resources to meet priorities and working with the Head of Future Operations Design Authority to manage issues as they arise.


The Team 

Chief Transformation and Technology Office (CTTO) is to vision, lead, transform, digitise, deliver and support the transformational programme to deliver the power system and market to 2030 and beyond maximising the integration of renewables in a sustainable way at an affordable cost taking on board the voices of all aspects of our society.  With an ultimate target of having a decarbonised power system in advance of 2050.

The Future Operations Design Authority is responsible for leading the programme for putting in place what is needed to operate the power system in 2030 and is responsible for developing the scenarios, options and optimum pathways to ensure that the operational ambition for the power system is realised. The work of Future Operations Design Authority is wide-ranging covering the design and development of the operational systems, tools, system services, standards and operational policies required to operate the power system of the future.
 
 
About you
Successful candidates will have the following:
  • Qualified to degree or masters level in a relevant discipline; 
  • Strong analytical skills and rigorous attention to detail; 
  • Strong business acumen and commercial understanding; 
  • Ability to build credibility and strong relationships with senior stakeholders with the ability to influence and engage in constructive challenge; 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, verbal and written; ability to take information and present it to senior stakeholders in a non-complexmanner
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills;  
  • Ability to navigate the organisation and garner support from multiple areas to deliver initiatives; 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise under pressure of deadlines, while working independently; knows when and how to escalate appropriately; 
  • Deep knowledge of electricity markets and power system operation, and an understanding of the challenges and opportunities of integrating new technologies and innovations on the power system, is essential.
