Our Purpose is to Transform the Power System for Future Generations, and our primary goal is to collaborate with the Island’s Electricity Sector on Sustainability and Decarbonisation.The role of the Chief Transformation and Technology Office (CTTO) is to vision, lead, transform, digitise, and deliver a transformational capability that enables Ireland’s power system and market to meet the targets for 2030 and beyond.We now have a new and exciting opportunity for a Head of Programme Management Office to join EirGrid.As Head of Programme Management Office, you will sit at the heart of this transformation. This is a high-profile leadership role responsible fordriving long term transformation planning for EirGrid’s strategic programmes through best-in-class programme management, governance, and business alignment.You will lead the enterprise-wide Programme Management Office – a multidisciplinary team responsible for:- Translating strategy into actionable multi-year transformation plans
- Prioritising and managing an annual strategic programme portfolio
- Ensuring consistent delivery methodologies, standards, and governance
- Managing enterprise-level risks, dependencies, and performance
- Providing executive-level reporting on programme status, outcomes, and benefits
- Leading cultural transformation and capability uplift in programme delivery
Aligned with EirGrid’s strategic goals, we will look to you to drive delivery excellence, ensure business value, and enable effective decision-making through robust governance and insight.About youSuccessful candidates will have:- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field – Business Administration, Project Management or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Deep project management expertise in agile and waterfall methodologies, and proficiency with project management tools and software.
- Proven experience in leading and managing large-scale strategic transformation programmes, with a strong track record of successful delivery.
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable plans.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to build, lead and develop high-performing, multidisciplinary teams.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Proficiency in managing risks, budgets, and programme performance across a strategic delivery portfolio.
- Experience in implementing governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Knowledge of energy systems, markets, or experience in regulated, public sector or government environments is advantageous.
- A passion for transformation, continuous improvement, and a strong customer focus.
