Is é EirGrid a fheidhmíonn agus a fhorbraíonn an córas leictreachais in Éirinn. Tá ár Straitéis 2020 – 25 múnlaithe ag an athrú aeráide agus ag aistriú earnáil an leictreachais chuig fuinneamh in-athnuaite ísealcharbóin. Tá ról faoi leith againn sa chlaochlú radacach atá de dhíth agus tugtar léargas inár straitéis ar ár bhfreagraí ar na dúshláin seo. Mar chuid den straitéis sin tá tacar príomhspriocanna atá mar bhonn ag ár gcuspóir, is é sin:

Tá an oifig Oibríochtaí agus Bainistíochta Sócmhainní lárnach maidir lenár bpríomhról a bhaint amach – feidhmiú, forbairt agus feabhsú an chórais cumhachta uile-oileáin agus an mhargaidh mórdhíola leictreachais. Táimid freagrach as gníomhaíochtaí oibríochta fíor-ama agus gar-ama (oibríochtaí córais agus oibríochtaí margaidh araon) Ghrúpa EirGrid ar bhonn 24 x 7 ar fud oileán na hÉireann, ag spreagadh éifeachtachta agus éifeachtúlachta, ag leabú athruithe agus ag cinntiú go ndéantar príomhchúram Ghrúpa EirGrid a bhaint amach, gan chomhréiteach, ar an mbealach is cost-éifeachtúla agus is trédhearcaí.

Background
EirGrid Group operates and develops the electricity system in Ireland. Our 2020 – 25 strategy is shaped by climate change and the transition of the electricity sector to low-carbon, renewable energy. We have a unique role to play in leading the radical transformation that is required and our strategy sums up our responses to these challenges. It consists of a set of key goals, underpinned by our purpose:

The Operations and Asset Management office is central to the delivery of our primary role – the operation, development and enhancement of the all-island power system and the wholesale electricity market. We are responsible for the real time and near time operational activities (both system operations and market operations) of EirGrid Group on a 24 x 7 basis across the island of Ireland, driving effectiveness and efficiency, embedding change and ensuring EirGrid Group’s core remit is delivered, without compromise, in the most cost efficient and transparent manner.

We now have an opportunity for a Senior Controller in the Settlement team within Operations and Asset Management Directorate. Creating a culture of continuous improvement that drives technical and process innovation is central to delivery in this role and the successful candidate will play a key role in both driving and supporting transformative change across the Directorate.

The Opportunity
The opportunity is available in the Settlement, Stakeholder Engagement and Registration team. In this role you will work collaboratively across the Group, engaging effectively with key stakeholders to bring about the change necessary to deliver on our strategic ambitions. 
The Senior Controller effectively operates the business processes in their designated area, ensuring all operational timelines and KPI's are met in line with the Trading and Settlement Code.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports the team lead in the coordination and management of processing activities to manage day to day settlement
  • Provides subject matter expertise and analysis expertise to operational teams to support the resolution of escalated issues
  • Investigates formal and general queries from market participants
  • Works with the other senior controllers to support the business processes across various settlement activities 
  • Reverts to market participants and closes out queries in line with agreed timelines
  • Plans and coordinates tasks and projects to support Settlement processing
  • Monitors progression of activities to ensure they are completed in line with agreed procedures and relevant codes, acting as an escalation point for troubleshooting where necessary
  • In cases where the materiality is of a significant scale makes recommendations to management, and implements agreed course of action
  • Identifies common errors, educates staff, updates business processes, work instructions and training documentation where appropriate
  • Development and enhancement of new and existing processes and procedures
  • Supports the ongoing coaching, training and development of controllers
  • Supports testing activities and requirements within the Settlements function.
  • Produces and maintains reports for management and the wider market, including daily reports, Market Operator User Group (MOUG) submissions, and internal and external quarterly/yearly reports.

About You
  • Third level qualification or equivalent in a business/IT related subject
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in administrative/business related role
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Effective communicator – expressing information and ideas to others in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing
  • Experience of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment with a flexible approach
  • Strong attention to detail and quality orientation
  • Experience working within a regulated business is desirable
  • Knowledge of Settlement aspects of the relevant codes/rule books, processes, procedures and systems is desirable.
