The Team
The People and Capability Office has overall responsibility for crafting and implementing a vision for organisational transformation, driving initiatives that support EirGrid strategic goals in people management, internal communications, and process enhancement.

The People and Capability Office plays a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of EirGrid's evolution, facilitating cultural change, and building and enabling a high-performance environment. From talent development to employee engagement, the People and Capability Office leads the charge in creating a motivated workforce and delivering best-practice HR policies and solutions.

The Opportunity
The Strategic HR Business Partner will play a key role working across the People & Capability team and the business to ensure delivery of our people strategy.  The role holder will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership shaping and delivering a people strategy that enables the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives in driving cultural transformation and employee engagement. 

The role has a strong focus on leading and embedding change programmes, organisational transformation, and culture evolution, ensuring that people considerations are fully integrated into business decision-making.
The Strategic HR Business Partner will work with senior leadership anticipating future capability needs, driving organisation design, and translating strategy into sustainable people solutions across workforce planning, leadership, performance, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Senior Leadership Teams to deliver people strategies aligned to organisational goals, transformation priorities, and long-term sustainability.
  • Act as a visible leader during periods of ambiguity and uncertainty, providing clear, consistent, and credible people leadership.
  • Design and deliver comprehensive change strategies that address leadership alignment, stakeholder engagement, culture, capability, communication, and employee experience.
  • Lead the people aspects of workforce change in accordance with employment legislation, policies, and best practice.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of leadership and talent strategies, including talent management and succession planning for critical roles.
  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based advice on complex people, organisational, and cultural issues.
  • Work collaboratively with CPCO Centres of Expertise (e.g. L&D, Reward, Talent Management, Employee Relations) to deliver integrated and joined-up solutions.

About You
  • Third level qualification with CIPD accreditation or equivalent
  • 5+ years HR experience including several years in a Business Partner role.
  • Ability to influence, challenge, and build credibility with senior stakeholders in complex environments.
  • Proven track record of leading organisational change and transformation programmes.
  • Strong expertise in organisation design, workforce planning, and change management methodologies.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into effective people initiatives.
  • Passionate about best practice in human resource management with the drive, tenacity and resourcefulness to thrive in a fast-moving environment.

This opportunity is being offered on an 18 Month Fixed Term Contract basis.
