Role Title: Clinic Manager
Role Location: Swords

A full time, permanent post has arisen within Vhi for the role of Clinic Manager.

As part of H&W Urgent Care – Service Line Governance Model the Clinic Manager, in conjunction with both the Nurse Leads and Doctor Leads, is responsible for the overall operational performance of the urgent care clinic to ensure that a highly reliable quality service and excellent patient experience is provided.


The Clinic Manager will lead the administration team and work with the entire clinic team in implementing the end to end administrative processes associated with the urgent care patient journey. Act as a direct line report for all senior administrators employed in the urgent care clinic.
Reporting to the Head of Operations – Urgent Care, the urgent care Clinic Manager will have accountability for the operational KPIs for the urgent care clinic and will have a clear focus on achieving these KPI’s enhancing the overall national performance of urgent care service line.

Role Purpose
  • Provide leadership, guidance and direction across the clinic on all operational processes 
  • Espouse the mission, values and related behaviours of Vhi. Play a lead role in promoting a positive, engaging culture in line with the values of the organisation
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the clinic team, and the broader Urgent Care Service Line and Health & Wellbeing structure, to deliver optimum performance levels and provide the ultimate goal of exceptional patient experience
  • Take local ownership for KPIs relating to patient experience and pursue the relevant targets.
  • Place quality patient care at the top of the agenda, to ensure that this is at the forefront of all decision making
  • Be relentless in pursuit of consistency of excellence in the context of quality and safety
  • Keep abreast with best practice in Urgent Care
  • Seek out opportunities to improve the standardisation of processes, effectiveness and efficiency of the clinic, and feed into the relevant initiatives to progress and implement suitable proposals
  • Take responsibility for designated budget lines for the clinic and manage appropriately against this, in particular the allocation of rostered hours for administrative staff
  • Report against key metrics identified for the measurement of clinic performance

Education & Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management or supervisory position in a Healthcare or health related setting
  • Degree level qualification in business, health care or related area desirable
  • Experience of working in an Urgent Care or similar clinical setting beneficial
