Purpose of the Role:     
The Senior Analyst, Investment Banking supports the Bank’s efforts to originate, structure and execute large and / or complex corporate and sovereign transactions across the region. The incumbent processes applications for deals and credit approvals, ensuring compliance with credit policies, procedures, and regulations.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Assesses, analyses and reports on financial and operational due diligence for structured and / or sensitive corporate and sovereign transactions, e.g., acquisition financing, project finance, refinance of major corporate facilities, including preparing tailored financial models to forecast and analyse the business and / or proposed transaction to assist deal leads and the wider team in their evaluation of potential transactions and inform the deal structure. 
  • Prepares, executes and circulates presentations and other marketing documents, including detailed, customised client proposals for internal and external presentation to key stakeholders, including, investors, senior / executive management, corporate boards of directors and cabinet to obtain internal approvals and ensure buy in on the best financial solution across stakeholders.
  • Participates in the overall team’s market syndication efforts, including client outreach, gathering of market intelligence, and gauging appetite to secure partners and ensure an efficient transaction process.
  • Assists and supports the deals team leaders in gathering and analysing company and industry specific financials and other quantitative and qualitative intelligence to provide deal lead with summarized findings and advice to aid in decision-making processes.
  • Advises and communicates to the wider Investment Banking team (and wider Corporate as required) of creative (and often complex) structures best suited to the client to provide tailored solutions to individual needs of large clients and improve the Bank’s competitive position.
  • Reviews deal papers for Corporate Banking transactions to ensure conformity to proper structuring techniques, internal credit policies and procedures as well as local and regional standards and regulations.
  • Assists and facilitates the development of internal cross-selling strategies for the Bank’s various offerings, including derivatives, FX, merchant services, etc. to maximize the Bank’s revenues across all revenue streams and capture a wider market by offering multifaceted financial solutions.
  • Observes and communicates key developments regionally and internationally and shares knowledge across the wider Bank to facilitate knowledge transfer to team members and others within the Bank and remain relevant and efficient in the market.  
Critical Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Capital Markets and / or Corporate Banking in a local, regional, or international market.
  • Deep industry specific knowledge of the financial and operational metrics and methodologies used to analyse the strength and weaknesses of a particular borrower, issuer, or target.
  • Well-developed fundamental analysis and ability to interpret economic indicators, industry trends and financial statements.
  • Excellent understanding of the geography of the Caribbean region, its economies, industries, businesses practices and culture.
  • Strong analytical / financial modelling skills, including in-depth knowledge of the preparation of financial forecasts and the analysis of financial statements.
  • Ability to explain detailed financial, economic, statistical and industry analysis and advise clients and colleagues on complex subject matter.
  • Able to organise own methodology and approach for individual client transaction analysis and presentation but within credit policy, appetite and legislative parameters.
  • Ability to gather / research industry data to provide guidance to team members to support key internal decisions or advice to the client.
Experience Required:
  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business, finance and / or equivalent professional finance or accounting qualifications and experience.
  • Professional certification / charter, e.g., CA / CFA considered an asset.
