Role Purpose​
The primary purpose of this role is to provide general administrative support toensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Policy, Research & StrategyDivision. As part of the Division’s Policy teams, you will help organisedocumentation, support project workflows, and assist with day-to-dayoperations. This role offers an excellent introduction to the inner workings ofpolicy and strategy, providing the opportunity to develop practical skills andcontribute to meaningful work. Candidates are advised that this will includesupporting work on sensitive subject matters relating to online safety and illegalonline content. ​

About the Division​
The Policy, Research & Strategy Division ensures Comisiún na Meán has astrong understanding of how traditional and online media impact the rights,interests, and welfare of citizens. It works to reflect these interests in the rulesthat govern broadcasters and online services, and in how those rules areenforced.​
The Division’s Policy teams’ work covers a wide range of online safety issues,including illegal harms, the protection of children and vulnerable adults,safeguarding democracy and fundamental rights, and developing codes andstandards for media services.​

Key Responsibilities​
  • Providing general administrative assistance, including preparingcorrespondence and assisting with organising, filing and recording documentation;​
  • Assisting in the implementation of operational work activities, supportingmanagers and other colleagues;
  • Data and file management, in line with the An Coimisiún’s policies and requirements;​
  • Organising meetings and taking meeting minutes;​
  • Processing and handling queries from stakeholder groups;​
  • Organising travel arrangements for team members;​
  • Collating data/information for reporting, and report-writing​

Essential Criteria​
  • Relevant clerical/administration/customer service experience;​
  • Effective organisational and time-management skills;​
  • Good attention to detail;​
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills​
  • Effective at prioritising and completing work to meet deadlines.​
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams;​

Desirable Criteria​
  • Experience in the Irish public sector, particularly in a regulatory environment;​
  • Fluency in or a working knowledge of the Irish language.​

  • This position is offered on a Permanent basis.  ​
  • Full time, 35 hrs per week​
  • Annual Leave: 22 days per annum ​
  • The role will be a hybrid role combining home and office working. Our current hybrid policy is 2 days in the office.​
  • Our office is located at One Shelbourne Buildings, Shelbourne Road, Dublin 4, D04 NP20.  ​
