Role Purpose:
As an Executive Officer within the Media Literacy and User Education team, you will be responsible for administering and supporting projects, processes, and initiatives pertaining to our client’s media literacy and user education programme. You will be required to provide operational and administrative support, ensuring timely project execution, stakeholder engagement and collaboration, communications, adherence to good governance practices, and continuous improvement of processes.
About the Team
The Media Literacy and User Education team comprises one of three teams within Coimisiún na Meán’s Communications & User Support Division. One of our key responsibilities is overseeing and managing projects, processes, and initiatives pertaining to Coimisiún na Meán’s media literacy and user education programme. In the recent past, such activities have included the creation, design and launch of the 'Rights, Rules, Reporting' educational resource for secondary school students, lesson plans for teachers on this resource, the creation and publication of the Election Candidate Information Pack to support the integrity of the electoral process, and the continuing support for the Irish media literacy network Media Literacy Ireland and its Be Media Smart Group campaign.
Key Responsibilities
Participating in the development of Coimisiún na Meán’s Media Literacy and User Education function.
Providing a high standard of administrative support for the Media Literacy and User Education team, particularly in relation to public awareness campaigns and other awareness-raising activities.
Drafting and updating project plans by tracking and recording key progress and evaluation metrics as required and ensuring relevant updates are communicated to stakeholders.
Undertaking desk research as needed to support ad hoc projects.
Planning, scheduling and providing operational support for events such as seminars, webinars and conferences.
Agenda preparing and communicating, minute and record-taking and management.
Supporting with procurement processes as needed.
Working closely with existing partners, including the multi-stakeholder network Media Literacy Ireland, to support the delivery of the network’s objectives
Proactively identifying areas for improvement and developing practical suggestions for their implementation.
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required.

Essential Criteria
Previous experience supporting project delivery, demonstrating strong administrative, operational and organisational skills.
Excellent time management skills, with strong attention to detail, the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to prioritise effectively.
Well-developed interpersonal skills and previous experience working with stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Deep understanding of, and commitment to, the role of media literacy in supporting citizen empowerment.
Drive and commitment to delivering high-quality public service, for internal and external stakeholders.
High degree of computer literacy, including good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Desirable Criteria
Knowledge and experience of relevant software such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
Good Excel proficiency.
Experience and understanding of social media content creation and communication.
Experience of both working and thriving in an evolving organisation.
Experience of contributing to the design and operational set-up of new processes and procedures.
A proficiency in the use of the Irish language.
Benefits, Package & Pay
This position is offered on a Permanent basis.
Full time, 35 hrs per week.
Annual Leave: 23 days per annum.
The role will be a hybrid role combining home and office working. Our current hybrid policy is 2 days in the office.
Our office is located at One Shelbourne Buildings, Shelbourne Road, Dublin 4, D04 NP20.
