The Role
The Data Modeler plays a key role in designing and structuring enterprise data to support reporting, analytics, and business operations. This role focuses on developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned to business requirements, with a strong emphasis on relational and dimensional modeling within SQL Server environments, using data modelling tools such as IDERA ER/Studio (preferred) or equivalent.
The Data Modeler is responsible for translating complex business needs into scalable, efficient data structures. This includes working with ER modeling techniques, designing normalized and dimensional schemas, and ensuring the data models support downstream use cases such as data warehousing, reporting, and integrations.
The role involves creating and maintaining data models, ER diagrams, data dictionaries, and metadata documentation, while ensuring adherence to data governance standards, quality frameworks, and best practices. A strong focus is placed on data consistency, standardization, and performance optimization in database design.
This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, architects, and ETL or integration teams, to ensure that data models align with enterprise architecture and delivery needs. The Data Modeler is also expected to support DDL generation, database implementation, and performance tuning, ensuring reliable and scalable data solutions.

Please note US hours coverage required (2pm – 10pm GMT)

Your responsibilities:
  • Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business requirements
  • Implement relational and dimensional data models supporting reporting, analytics, and data warehousing
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and ETL teams to translate requirements into scalable data structures
  • Create and maintain ER diagrams, data dictionaries, and metadata documentation
  • Ensure data models adhere to data governance, quality, and standardization frameworks
  • Support database design and performance optimization within Microsoft SQL Server environments
  • Assist in DDL generation and deployment for physical database implementation
  • Participate in data architecture discussions and ensure alignment with enterprise data strategy.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
  • Extensive experience in data modeling
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Entity-Relationship Modeling (ER Modeling)
    • Relational Data Modeling (3NF)
    • Dimensional Modeling (Star/Snowflake schemas)
    • Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Modeling
  • Hands-on experience in:
    • Microsoft SQL Server database design
    • Writing and understanding SQL / DDL scripts
  • Experience with data modeling tools:
    • IDERA ER/Studio (Preferred)
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Data Warehousing concepts (SCD, CDC, ETL integration)
  • Exposure to BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Understanding of data governance and metadata management
  • Experience working in BFSI domain (nice to have)
