Job Title: Parts Manager
Responsible to: General Manager
Main Purpose of Job:
We are currently recruiting for a Parts Manager to join the Connolly Motor Group, within the Parts team, at Volkswagen and Audi Ballina.
The role:
The successful candidate will be required to manage parts advisors. You will be required to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction when interacting with all departments and customers and each opportunity is taken to continuously improve the working methods and standards. To cost effectively manage the flow of parts through the dealership and ensure agreed parts sales volumes and profitability targets are met. To identify and develop opportunities to enhance the performance of the Parts department. To ensure agreed profitability targets are met through the optimisation of sales opportunities combined with appropriate control of costs and expenditure.
Role Responsibilities:
Management
Monitors department performance against the budget, identifying and addressing shortfalls and recognising opportunities for over performance
Manages costs attributable to the parts department, continually reviewing and monitoring parts pricing policies, discounts and trade discounts to maintain profitability
Analyses local market statistics to identify opportunities within the territory then develops an action plan to optimise these opportunities
Formulates and communicates sales targets for parts department and provides sufficient guidance and direction in order to maintain agreed volume and profit targets
Ensures and monitors accurate and timely ordering of parts for stock and for internal / external customers
Manages the smooth flow of parts flow through the dealership by organising, booking in and verifying deliveries thus ensuring accurate storage and retrieval of parts
Produces invoices for all sales and ensures payment is received prior to releasing the part, or that appropriate trade accounts are used for customer. Completes the appropriate documentation
Ensures the parts department is adequately staffed to achieve departmental objectives
Displays customer facing parts and accessories stock in an attractive, clean manner making optimum use of space and display materials
Monitors the age profile of parts stock and takes action to minimise obsolete stock
Communicates relevant administration and processes to the parts team / workshop to ensure accuracy and compliance
Review and monitor parts team productivity / efficiency / quality / comebacks
Readiness to attend and undergo training as and when required by the Company and the Manufacturer
Assist HR with employment relations, recruitment & selection and people agenda queries
Motivates the team using available tools and applying them in a fair, equitable and consistent manner
Monitors the performance of the team, using key measures and addresses areas of under performance
Conducts regular review and update meetings as a team, and on a one to one basis to ensure each team member is fully updated on all key issues relevant to their tasks and objectives
Ensure the parts team maximise the potential of up-sales during customer communications
Liaises with manufacturer or external warranty providers for information/approval on contributions
Maintain a clean, well-decorated and tidy department to achieve the highest standards of presentation
Provides regular feedback to the Group Parts Manager on departmental activity and statistics
Customer Service
Ensures the Parts team maintains and develops good relationships with departments and customers by meeting and exceeding expectations and supporting a right first-time approach
Handles customer issues and complaints using the necessary skills and resolving the issue to the mutual satisfaction of the customer and the business
Standards & Regulations
Monitor and check the safety of equipment and materials. All used parts should be removed from the workshop
Controls and manages any manufacturer audits as and when required
Ensures team members comply with appropriate H&S working procedures and wearing of appropriate PPE and safety gear

Skills and Competencies:
Motor sector experience is desirable
2 Years Experience in a people management role is desirable
Knowledge of IT systems
People Management experience is essential
Excellent Communication skills (Written, Oral, Listening)

Display a keen interest in Motor Vehicles
