Hybrid role: 1 – 2 days onsite in TCS Office, Dublin per week

The Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for building a pipeline of new business within the Irish Utilities sector (Electricity and Gas Retail; Generation, Distribution and Transmission; Water supply; Wastewater, Renewals industries). You will extend our existing client relationships to position TCS as a future strategic partner to the senior executive management teams within our focus market.

In this role, you will generate significant new business sales and revenue in the Utilities Sector across Ireland. The majority of the sales will be created through selling a broad range of IT services to key clients / prospects within this sector. The role will extend to clients within NI and subsequently within the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own and manage the creation of CXO’s interactions and connections.
  • Assist in creating, agreeing and implementing the sales strategy, approach and objectives for the target market.
  • Identify key opportunities and develop compelling propositions and business cases.
  • Ensure routine use of bid review / approval processes, sales reporting and pipeline management tools.
  • Develop and maintain the senior level relationships within target market / accounts in order to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Understand the value that outsourcing brings to organisations.

Your Profile
Key skills/knowledge/experience:
  • Strong track record of sales in outsourcing of large deals within the Utilities Sector across the Irish or adjacent markets is a must.
  • Fundamental understanding of the territory, the science of consultative selling of IT services, possessing in-depth commercial awareness. 
  • An innovative approach to deal structures and capacity to be highly credible with Clients.
  • Degree qualification.
  • Extensive experience of the industry.
  • Seen as a “thought leader” in the market.
  • Relevant experience of competing successfully within the market.
  • Experience of working in virtual teams spread over multiple locations and countries.
  • Broad expertise of the IT industry, markets, trends, technologies and their implications.

Special Working Conditions:

Based in Ireland and with occasional travel to other countries – UK, Europe and India.  There will be a requirement to work at our TCS office in Dublin and at client sites.
