The Role 
TCS seek a Support Engineer with strong SQL and UNIX skills to join a Global Investment Banking Application support team. The production support team are responsible for supporting the entire system, monitoring batch process, completing overnight checks, trouble shooting, communicating, and escalating production issues. This team also support daily customer requests. The technology stack includes database, API, Batch, ETL and Web Applications all in support of big data. The system is currently in transition into AWS.
You will join an existing team of production support and development in Ireland and the US who will be responsible ongoing support of mission critical applications, along with developing enhancements and new tooling.

Key responsibilities:  
  • Proactively monitor a large amount of processing.
  • Be able to quickly troubleshoot issues, either with data, infrastructure, or end user.
  • Manage multiple requests and issues at one time.
  • Provide clear and concise updates to management and end users.
  • Look for opportunities to continuously improve our processes and ways of working.
  • Help to build and implement new tooling to be used to enhance support.
  • Be able to review code and stored procedures and to make fixes to existing processes where needed, to resolve critical issues.
Your Profile 
Key skills/knowledge/experience:   
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Experience with Unix Systems.
  • Splunk experience.
  • Some development experience, preferably Java
  • Experience in handling multiple issues at once.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Process automation experience.
Good to have:   
  • AWS experience.
  • Experience with Atlassian suite: Confluence, Jira, Desk.
  • Investment banking knowledge.
  • CFA Certification.
  • ITIL Service Management Certification.
Special working conditions:
  • Candidates will be required to work rotating Irish hours: 7am – 3pm/8am – 4pm.
  • Candidate will be required to work several Irish Public Holidays per year, with time back in lieu.
  • Requirement to be onsite in Letterkenny Global Delivery Centre, a minimum of 2 days per week.
