The Role
As an AWS Cloud Architect, you will work with the customer team to understand as-is state of application and design solutions.
  • Align with group strategy.
  • Collaborate with group technology teams and actively contribute to group technology steering and solution development.
  • Develop the target architecture (including regions) and oversee its implementation.
  • Provide assurance on design, architecture, and planning for technical solutions.   
  • Ensure that a thorough assessment of available technologies is conducted prior to developing a solution.
  • Ensure technical knowledge remains consistent with latest industry trends through any relevant method 
  • Design technical solutions and ensure its delivery and implementation.
  • Manage third-party organisations and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of technical solutions.
  • Manage the delivery of internal minor projects and work packages.
  • Provide expert technical advice for change to existing services or the introduction of new services.
  • Contribute to relevant project documentation (mandates, briefs, PIDs, etc) and operational documentation as agreed for each project.
  • Raise and escalate risk and issue as soon as they become apparent and propose plan to mitigate them.

Your Profile
Key skills/knowledge: 
  • Experience and good knowledge of other Cloud related products (SaaS, PaaS) and IAM products (Okta, AD, Cognito, and AzureAD etc.).
  • Experience in creation and development of Cloud formation scripting alongside a good understanding of (YAML or JSON).
  • Experience working within a hybrid cloud environment and able to adapt native cloud solutions to meet these current requirements 
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform capabilities and best practices architectures, and engineering solutions within multiple Cloud accounts and services.
  • Experience working in AWS via the CLI and management console.
  • Knowledge and experience architecting and configuring Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs).
  • Strong knowledge of software evaluation principles and practices. 
  • Experience collaborating with cross functional global and remote teams with diverse backgrounds. 
  • Experience writing process requirements, technical design documents, and standard operating procedures. 
  • In-depth knowledge of project management processes. 
  • Good knowledge of ITIL and general service management practice.
  • Proficient in project management (methods), progress reporting, project management tools, project planning, and control techniques.

Experience required:
  • Vast experience in infrastructure architecture and design across the full product development lifecycle, with exposure to a wide array of technologies, methodologies, and business environments.
  • Strong complex platform infrastructure delivery experience including successful delivery of a major program.
  • Extensive experience working with Cloud Native Architecture, design, and implementation of systems and applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS). 
  • Experience in delivering hybrid Cloud solutions.  
  • Broad knowledge of all related infrastructure Services.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Business unit project management processes and overall governance.
