The Role
As a
Senior Vulnerability Engineer
, you will be a member of the Vulnerability Mgmt. team and assigned to a VM Analyst Liaison position. You will be a central point of contact for the business to engage for questions and serve as conduit to the vulnerability management programme for specific business needs.
The Role
Support complex deals in the pre-sales stage alongside Qualys sellers and take ownership for driving the technical engagements and securing the technical win.
Understand and document customers' compliance and security requirements and come up with end-to-end solutions based on Qualys security solutions and partner integrations.
Uncover new use cases for the Qualys platform by identifying technical and business value gaps between the customer’s desired state versus existing capabilities and demonstrate how to fill those gaps.
Execute standardised and high-quality proof-of-concepts/proof-of-value engagements as needed to secure the technical win for strategic pursuits within assigned areas.
Interface with product management to help prioritise the most impactful feature requests from customers and to identify and share ideas for new products and integrations.
Develop and deliver a variety of technical engagements including workshops, whiteboarding architecture design sessions, and post-sale deployment health checks.
Understand customers' down-the-line needs, brainstorm solutions with them, and work closely with product managers to ensure that those requirements are included in product release planning and help in the reassessment of product roadmap.
Document and distribute business/technical insights to area and corporate leadership that will help improve customer outcomes and support the achievement of company goals
Supports (initially) the following modules: VM, Cybersecurity Asset Management, Cloud Agent (inventory, vm), continuous monitoring, threat protection, virtual and physical appliances.
Provide high level guidance to customers building VM programs, supporting processes, and how to support/operate those programs with Qualys.
Your Profile
Key skills/knowledge:
Experience building/operating VM programmes.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking protocol stack down to the packet level, able to read and understand PCAPs, able to diagnose and explain networking operational or design issues.
Familiarity with network topology and understand network routes taken by various assets on our network.
Experience with vulnerability and patch assessment.
Must-have knowledge of Windows OS & Unix/Linux OS.
Experience with vulnerability scanning tools.
Skilled in vulnerability assessment, risk rating, threat correlation, asset-based remediation management, and reporting.
Familiarity with CVEs, CVSS, Secunia, and Mitre as well as other industry specific vulnerability classification standards, frameworks, and best-practices.
Knowledge of application exploits and vulnerabilities and orts and services typical in configuration of web servers, file servers, and workstations.
Experience required:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field with several years of IT infrastructure experience with a focus in security.
Strong hands-on experience deploying and managing Qualys VM products.
Understanding of core networking services and their requirements including DNS, DHCP, routing, VLAN configuration.
Previous experience as an architect or SME using Qualys.
