Motor Distributors Limited, the exclusive importer and distributor of Mercedes Benz, SMART & BYD in Ireland, wishes to recruit a Learning & Development Co-ordinator (People & Operations) to support activity across both the Learning and Development and HR Departments.

The Learning & Development Co-ordinator will support the provision of learning and development material and activities across all parts of the organisation. The primary objective is to drive organisational effectiveness through supporting and building workforce and dealer network capabilities.

Reporting to the Head of Learning & Development, the successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of our employee training, learning and development programs and for certain dealer network projects.

This is a multifaceted, hybrid role that offers great scope and variety of work, to that end the role requires a person with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability.  The successful candidate will play a key supportive role to both the Learning & Development and HR departments, they will bring value to the role by aligning their skills and competencies with department and organisational goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the delivery, implementation, and management of identified strategic objectives as specified in MDL’s strategic plan.
  • Facilitating training needs analysis in order to identify learning priorities across the organisation.
  • Management of the organisational learning and development plan.
  • Co-ordination of the education assistance process and external training process. This will include assistance with H&S related training and records.
  • Designing and delivering core organisational in-house training programmes as identified through training needs analysis and utilising a range of media to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Accurate management and maintenance of the various L&D and HR records including handling and maintaining accurate colleague records.
  • Formulation and development of plans, procedures and programmes to meet specific learning needs as identified in the organisational learning and development plan.
  • Support the HR department to develop continuous learning and development capabilities in line with strategic business objectives.
  • Co-ordinating projects within the Learning and Development Department as required.
  • Administer and support the functioning of the Learner Management Systems.
  • Providing input into the co-ordination and management of engagement and change initiatives.
  • Any other projects/duties as they arise.
 Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
  • Broad experience in the area of training, learning and development.
  • Previous experience in the HR field would be desirable.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and interpersonal skills.
  • Good commercial awareness with a good understanding of best practice in sales processes and systems.
  • Self-motivated and self-confident, with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to adapt and facilitate different styles.
  • Excellent communication skills including listening skills and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Data literate with good IT and analytical skills, and high level of attention to detail.
  • The ability to influence and gain the respect of our Dealer network.
  • Adaptable and flexible to changing technologies, processes, and environments.
  • A persuasive style with a positive determination to achieve results and meet deadlines.
