Purpose/Objective:
 
A customer driven role, with strong emphasis on providing exciting stellar service to internal and external clients. Originates services, refers and retains a variety of Small Business loan relationships, both secured and unsecured.  Actively participates in business development activities to cross sell services and products from other lines of business within the bank. Coaches and Mentors team members in the credit process and credit quality
 
Key Accountabilities:
  1. Executes diagnostic calling program to self-originate a variety of Small Business loans in accordance with bank policies and revenue objective’s.  Responsible for retention and growth of assigned loan portfolio, with an emphasis on proactive client contact and cross-sell.  25%
  2. Exhibiting stellar service skills, the Business Banking Officer using a diagnostic services and sales process, Identifies and actively cross-sells the full suite of bank products, making referrals to other lines of business  to generate interest and non-interest income within specified goals including, but not limited to Berkshire Insurance, Wealth Management, Cash Management, and Merchant Processing.  30%
  3. Works within their assigned retail branches and geographic markets in joint calling efforts with Branch Managers to uncover lending and cross sell opportunities.   35%
  4. Engages in Networking events and business social organizations, such as Chambers of Commerce, to build upon relationships and brand of the bank within the business community. 10%
  5. Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one’s duties.
 
Education:
  • BS Degree in Business, Economics or Finance, or equivalent financial experience
 
 
Experience:
  • 5+ years’ experience as a commercial lender
  • Stellar customer service experience to include process driven outbound calling
  • Proven track record of working in partnership to achieve goals
