Our 2 year Level 7 Foundation Degree in Management Practice with Specialism in Retail is aimed at retail and operations professionals and offers a blended approach to earning your degree.
You’ll join our business as a Deputy Logistics Manager and start with an intensive 3-month operational training programme. Once this has been completed, you’ll be enrolled on the degree programme, where you will attend 6 1-week classroom based sessions over the 2 years of the programme.  In between these, you’ll work 4 days per week in one of warehouses, and spend 1 day per week studying online. There will be a number of other training programmes which will complement your academic learning and opportunities to work on projects that make a real impact to our business. You’ll also be assigned a mentor and a coach, and the Regional Training and Development Manager will also be supporting you through your journey.
The location for this role is Nutts Corner Warehouse.
The Deputy Logistics Manager Role
  • Lead a team of Warehouse Operatives in our Goods In, Selection or Transport departments ensuring stock is received, stored, packed and transported according to the highest standards
  • Delivery of a performance orientated and motivating work environment for all employees
  • Participating in operational activities and demonstrating strong leadership skills through leading by example
  • Management & Development of key performance indicators
  • Engagement & interaction with multiple IT systems which form the basis for key Logistics processes within our Regional Distribution Centres
  • Completing regular quality control checks and product rotation according to company guidelines
  • Coordination of all on-the-job training for all Warehouse Operatives and other trainees in order to develop employees and enable them to work proactively
  • Development & maintenance of the work planner and planning annual leave
Your Profile
  • You have completed your A Levels or equivalent
  • Management experience in a fast-paced environment is desirable but not essential
  • Full driver’s licence
  • Have the confidence to manage conflict and get the best out of the employees around you
  • The ability to lead a team and demonstrate the skills required to inspire others
  • A clear results-driven work history, expressing the ability to work within challenging constraints
  • A strong multi-tasker with the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • Possess strong organisational and communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable working style
  • Adapt at managing people and controlling costs and demonstrating a hands-on approach to ensure success
