We’re a client focused engineering business and a background in engineering or business/commerce is key for this role. The core responsibility of this role is to manage the operation of the power system ensuring that the lights stay on in a secure, reliable, sustainable and economic way.  Operations are also responsible for the long-term sustainable development of the transmission system in order to meet the future needs of all users of electricity on the island of Ireland.  Creating a culture of continuous improvement that drives technical and process innovation is central to delivering on these roles.

You’ll also deliver on services for all electricity users on the island of Ireland. The Operations function seeks to meet the needs of large energy producers and consumers connected directly to the transmission system and all users connected to the transmission system via the distribution system. 
You will be able to deliver on a range of technical and commercial projects designed to achieve regulated targets, meet stakeholder needs in line with company requirements. You will apply your skills, knowledge and experience to effectively deliver on your team’s processes and overcome problems and carry out technical analysis to a high degree of accuracy.

You will have Engineering degree or equivalent, with experience using analysis coupled with professional judgement to make decisions. You will have proven experience conceiving and introducing innovative ideas, solutions or new ways of doing things.

You will have the ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders and effectively communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience. You will have experience of working within a similar environment carrying out power system analysis and proficient in the use power flow analysis tools.

Most importantly,  you will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, while also being able to define and guide own work under minimal supervision.
