The Oppotunity

The Group Regulation Function has a pivotal role to play in supporting the delivery of this strategy.  Group Regulation is responsible for all of EirGrid’s regulatory dealings across its licenced activities.

We are seeking Senior Charging and Regulations Specialist to have a key role in developing and leading the delivery and implementation of the company’s regulatory strategy and engagement plan for maximum effectiveness ensuring alignment with the EirGrid business strategy, building, and maintaining EirGrid’s regulatory relationship with the Commission for Regulation of Utilities and the SEM Committee across a range of issues.
  

In this role you will focus on determining connection charges for customers connecting to Ireland’s Transmission System. The role provides an opportunity to work within a high-profile team with senior personnel within the organisation across a variety of disciplines.

Appropriate connections charges are a critical component of a customer’s plans to connect to the system, and providing quality connection offers to customers is an essential service provided by EirGrid. The work undertaken by the Senior Charging and Regulations Specialist will therefore have significant customer impact and will be important in helping deliver EirGrid’s strategy to transform the power system.


About You

Successful candidates will have:
 
  • A degree in business, engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role, in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical abilities, coupled with the ability to make reasoned judgements based on available information.
  • Ability to draft documentation in a rational, evidence-based, clear and concise manner.
  • High level of attention to detail and pride in one’s own work.
  • Demonstrated flexible working approach with ability to lead and prioritise a wide range of demands and activities whilst maintaining a professional and positive focus.
  • Knowledge of and experience in a regulated utility/ regulator is desirable.
