We are looking for a Software Development Manager to lead and own an agile software delivery team made up of Architects, Software engineers, DBAs, and QA engineers that work on various solutions and services for our large blue-chip customer base utilising modern software engineering best practices (Microservices architecture, Azure DevOps, Microsoft .Net Core and Sql Server).

As the Software Development Manager, you will work closely with the entire Technology organisation as well as helping to lead and inspire the development team. You will ensure projects are completed within deadlines, providing technical mentorship as and when required. This opportunity supports a hybrid working model offering flexibility of work with 2 days remotely and 3 days in the office.

This Role Involves:
  • Managing the delivery of a portfolio of projects in both waterfall and agile-driven delivery environments.
  • Responsibility for scoping, planning, coordinating, risk management, reporting, vendor management, team leadership, cost management and quality in delivering projects across the portfolio.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with all key internal technology and operations stakeholders and external product vendors.
  • Working with clients and other stakeholders to analyse, design and deliver technical solutions and software functionality that meet their business needs.
  • Efficiently maintain, support/enhance systems to a high quality.
  • Responsibility for setting coding and design standards, conducting team design sessions and code reviews, coaching and managing the dev team, and ensuring high-quality software product features are being delivered.
Preferred Experience:
  • A relevant Degree or Master’s in computer science, IT or equivalent discipline
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of modern best practices in Software engineering DevOps, Agile / Microservices approach to architecture as examples
  • Excellent stakeholder management, customer relationship management, team leadership and excellence in project governance
  • Proven delivery experience working in full SDLC methodologies (waterfall and agile) working across multiple onshore / offshore teams and external vendors
  • Excellent communication, ability to deliver multiple diverse projects under pressure
  • Experience in managing and developing enterprise software products in .NET core, .NET framework and associated Microsoft DevOps and DB technologies.
