Role purpose

We have an exciting opportunity for a Test Technician to join our new Product Development team based in Birmingham City Centre until August 2018, then moving to the Droitwich office based in Droitwich town centre on a permanent basis.

As a Test Technician you will report to the Workshop manager, and will provide support and assistance to the new test department within the new product development team by conducting performance tests on new and existing products in the Vax range.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct performance testing on prototype and pre-production Vax products to support our Product development team
  • Understand all relevant test standards and ensure that Vax products are tested correctly through correct preparation
  • Maintaining a safe and tidy work area
  • Proposing and implementing laboratory best practices in terms of processes and equipment
  • Creating and maintaining documents
  • Inputting test data, findings and results separately into spreadsheets
  • Reporting test results and findings both verbally and in a written report format to relevant NPD team members

 

Skills / Experience

  • Relevant science or engineering degree or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a scientific testing environment
  • Methodical and conscientious worker, able to rapidly react to changing requirements from the NPD team
  • Ability to learn quickly, follow and understand precise instructions and procedures, asking relevant questions when unsure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to report technical information in clear and concise ways, both verbally and in writing
  • Computer literate, understanding of Word, Excel and general administration
