Sales and Marketing Executive, Financial Services & Emerging Business Division, Raleigh Durham

position will provide an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Executive to take on an exciting and challenging role that is rewarding from a public service perspective in terms of their contribution to Ireland’s economy and also provide a unique opportunity to work closely with C-Level Executives in the Emerging Business and Financial Sectors. This role is in a critical territory, Raleigh-Durham, which is home to strategically important IDA clients. 

The successful Executive will be responsible for the targeting and delivery of investments from the territory working closely with their global team in Ireland to support the achievement of the organisation’s targets in line with IDA Ireland’s strategy 2020 – 2024. 

Working with the North American and global teams, the purpose of the International Sales and Marketing role is to win new FDI for Ireland from target companies located in Raleigh-Durham and other allocated territories. The successful Executive will be responsible for generating targeted client meetings, related site visits, coordinating marketing trips, and the delivery of market and territory targets.  
As a key member of the IDA Ireland team based in Raleigh-Durham, the successful Executive will be working closely with the allocated global teams in identifying and winning investment from existing and target companies;  
  • Identifying investment opportunities from New Name & Existing clients with potential to invest in Ireland;  
  • Building a strong pipeline of Investments and converting them to investment approvals against defined targets; 
  • Achieving goals & objectives in line with the Market and allocated Divisional strategies;
  • Developing and updating target lists for the contestable market in the territory. 

Key Tasks:
  • Identify, build and develop a network of key business owners; decision makers and influencers in target and existing clients across the territories; 
  • Engage with and influence C-level Executives, to identify and win job creating investments for Ireland; concentrate these engagements/meetings on selling client centred solutions, emphasising a fit between the client’s needs and Ireland’s offering, including allocated priority regions for the division;   
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and to fluently articulate Ireland’s value proposition for the sector to US based clients; 
  • Identify and build a network of influencers within the stakeholder community.  
Further activities will include 
  • Actively organise, promote and manage high value client events and networking opportunities in Raleigh-Durham, in order to build awareness of Ireland as a competitive FDI location with a view to securing investments; 
  • Raise the profile of Ireland as a centre for fast growth companies and for Financial Services companies across the territories and support the development of Ireland’s brand reputation as a location where companies can scale internationally;   
  • Contribute to the organisation and execution of Irish Government/Ministerial visits and other marketing programmes, as appropriate; 
  • Capture and share relevant market place sectoral intelligence with the Global and North American teams, and to ensure the continuous strengthening of the territories and sector strategies for winning new investment opportunities; 
  • Operate as part of a cohesive team across North America and the respective global teams; 
  • Ensure dignity, respect and equality are applied in all interactions with people both internally and externally;

  • Ability to work well under pressure, flexibly and independently on own initiative; 
  • Track record of success in career to date, specifically in business development and client management; 
  • Capability to build relationships at Senior Executive level with US companies; 
  • 3rd level business/sector related qualification, to a minimum of degree standard or relevant business development experience; 
  • Full driving licence is essential;
  • Successful candidate will be based in Atlanta, however they will be expected and required to travel frequently.  
  • Familiarity with social media/digital marketing is desirable. 

Contracts will be for a period of 3 years.
