The Opportunity

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Delivering a quality audit and advice to clients in advance of deadlines and with limited supervision;
  • Contributing to and assisting in the delivery of Audit department goals including the effective and efficient planning and execution of assignments;
  • Lead multiple audit assignments concurrently and ensure the most effective and efficient use of time and resources at all times.
  • Leading, supervising and mentoring junior staff members as appropriate to ensure quality, thoroughness and completion of assignments within agreed timeframes;
  • Reporting on audit findings, in particular, to raise any issues arising during the audit which may impact on risk to the Audit Manager/ Partner;
  • Dealing with escalated client issues from junior members of the audit team in a timely manner;
  • Executing client assignments utilising a range of audit and accounting applications;
  • Liaising with other departments, including taxation, company secretarial and consultancy in the delivery of audit and advisory services;
  • Identifying potential opportunities to provide additional value added services to the client.
The Person
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and qualifications:
  • Qualified ACA/ACCA accountant;
  • Prior practice experience within an Audit team;
  • Previous financial services audit experience is desirable;
  • Experience of CaseWare an advantage
  • Strong technical knowledge;
  • Experience in supervising junior staff members on audit assignments;
  • Client focused with strong commercial expertise;
  • Excellent technical and interpersonal skills;
  • Team player with strong communication and leadership potential.
