The Opportunity
RSM’s Consulting Team currently provides research, policy, and economic consulting services to public and private sector clients throughout Ireland and across the areas of Health and Social Care, Education, Regeneration, Economic Development, Skills, Innovation and Infrastructure Development. There will also be the opportunity to work on international assignments with other RSM firms around the world and to avail of specialist training as part of our commitment to professional development.

As a result of our continued growth, we are seeking to recruit an experienced and motivated Economics Associate who has expertise in delivering one or more of the following services: economic research; policy and programme evaluation; project appraisal/impact assessment; value for money analyses and business case development.

It is envisaged the main duties and responsibilities of this role will include:
  • Working with colleagues, across the RSM Consulting Team, on a range of existing projects and identifying opportunities for growth
  • Preparing quality proposals, in line with tender specifications, in a timely and robust manner
  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis, reporting and visualisation
  • Undertaking specialist economic research, such as cost benefit analysis or economic evaluations. 
  • Accessing and examining administrative datasets from national and international organisations.
  • Developing project plans detailing tasks to be completed and review dates and times and supporting project delivery.
  • Assist other staff with economic input as required, seeking to support the team, and learning ethos that currently exists at RSM.
The Person
This role is ideally suited to an ambitious individual who wishes to use economic analysis to make a real impact on policy, working alongside a talented team of analysts, researchers, evaluators and economists based across RSM.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience.
  • Strong academic record with numerical proficiency (minimum of 2.1 Honours Degree)
  • Some experience in Economic Research and Evaluation
  • Excellent spoken and written communication, including experience of presenting complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent project management skills, including project planning.  
  • Ability to demonstrate clear and logical thinking.
  • High proficiency in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Motivated and passionate about delivering work that can demonstrate Value for Money for our clients.
As this is a client facing role there will be a requirement to travel to client premises, so a full, clean driver's licence is desirable.
