A fulltime permanent vacancy has arisen for the role of Group Data Quality Accountant. The successful candidate will responsible for the data quality within the financial solutions team, support the month and year end reporting and implementation of new processes and controls promoting a more simplified, automated and controlled working environment.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Involved in the month end processes to close the ledgers for all entities in the grou
  • Support the preparation and review of monthly group consolidated accounts to strict reporting deadlines.
  • Work closely with the other members of the Financial Solutions team to ensure information in the ledger is at sufficient level to meet reporting needs.
  • Report monthly, quarterly and annual results to Executive Management Team as well as the Board and other Board sub-committees on financial and business unit’s performance.
  • Assist in the preparation of Financial Statements of all group entities.
  • Assist in completing quarterly and annual central bank reporting under SOL II as well as other CBI returns including the RI Annual Return and the Conduct of Business Return.
  • Assist in monthly cost management reporting
  • Pro-active approach to ongoing system and process development to reflect Management Information requirements and changing and evolving needs.
  • Responsible for redesigning processes to promote more simplified, automated and controlled results.
  • Responsible for building automated controls within processes and reports to assist the group finance department.
  • Responsible for the data quality and data governance of the finance data, including all complex spreadsheets and stand-alone reporting tools.
  • Support any finance system upgrades/changes as required.
  • Ongoing liaising with all key stakeholder groups including business units and Shared Services/IT departments to resolve system, process and accounting issues arising.
  • Other ad hoc finance project work as required.

The successful candidate must have:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Minimum 1 year PQE 
  • Strong technical skills, Data warehouse, Excel, use of macros and SQL.
  • Ability to improve and develop new processes and controls with specific data sets
  • Experience of consolidated accounting & financial system management desired.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Broad knowledge of Irish GAAP reporting requirements.
  • Strong written communication and reporting ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and interact with persons at all levels across the group.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, ability to ensure tasks are finalised to strict deadlines.
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment and supervisory reporting requirements desirable
