We are now recruiting for Catering/Kitchen Assistants to join the catering team on a full-time basis in our new 150 bed Care Centre, located in Leopardstown, Dublin 18. (This is a 7 day operation, so includes weekdays and weekends - 4 shifts/week). 

What does this role entail?
Catering assistants work as part of a team to provide the highest level of customer service to our residents. The role involves preparation and service of food for our residents and maintaining hygiene in all catering areas.

Main Activities
  • To work as part of the catering team, providing excellent customer service to all our residents.
  • To interact with residents, helping with food and beverage choices.
  • To maintain standards of hygiene throughout the department, in line with food safety and infection control policies. This will involve clearing and cleaning the kitchen, dining rooms and all catering areas.
  • To assist in the preparation and service of food and beverages for residents.
  • To ensure hygiene, health and safety, HACCP, COSHH and regulations are always followed.  
  • To maintain HACCP; monitoring and recording CCPs as instructed.
  • To adhere to HIQA guidelines, as advised by management.
  • To participate in all necessary training for the role, and to put this training into practice. This will include in person training sessions, on the job training and online training modules.
  • To assist with on-the-job training for new staff members.
  • To carry out other duties as directed by line Manager.
What are the skills/experience needed?
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a catering role. Healthcare experience would be an advantage.
  • ​​​A good understanding of HACCP; ideally trained to Level 2 standard.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be reliable and have good time-keeping.
  • Fluent level of English both written and oral.
