Graduate Quantity Surveyor
Due to the development of new and existing projects we are excited to be recruiting a Gradutate QS to join our team in Waterford.
Working alongside the team, the role will be working within & assisting the commercial & construction team to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships, maximising commercial returns and manage risk.
You will be:
Supporting the commercial team
Assist in the preparion of tenders – measure, put into packages, analyse
You will be a team player, have fresh ideas and be prepared to challenge us and yourself every step of the way.
Preparing variations/valuations
Preparing s/c valuations & Final Accounts
Carrying out Site measurements
Attending site/subcontractor meetings
At all times acting in a suitable professional man
You will have:
Recently graduated or are soon to graduate with a good Commercial / Quantity Surveying degree.
Knowledge of the commercial activities undertaken during the pre-contract process and the principles of cost planning, what the components are that make up the cost of the project
Knowledge of the need for effective cash management
Awareness of the concept of budget and cost reconciliation and forecasting
Awareness of the requirement to maintain processes to monitor direct works costs
Knowledge of and able to undertake Interim Valuation of simple Sub-Contract packages and assist in preparation of external application
Awareness of primary risks that can affect a project. Aware of the principles of risk management and procurement routes that can deal with risk
