Design Manager- Limerick/Cork
John Sisk & Son are now hiring a Design Manager for Limerick or cork you will be working on exciting and innovative projects whilst utilising innovative processes to ensuring the highest possible efficiency and quality.
You will Have:
Experience working with Design and Build, Contract Management/CMR and/or EPCM project delivery models.
Project Management Awareness as minimum – understand scope description, level of detailing and clarification of design responsibility by different parties considering different types of contracts
Delineate design scopes and drive the design process throughout the project stages
To support the pre-construction stage
An MEP background – understanding projects with process-led design (Mechanical Engineering background is preferred, but Electrical Engineer with Automation experience would also be considered)
Have experience working on Life Sciences and Technology projects, and/or Data Centres – it is a strong differential, but background in infrastructure and industrial projects or Process engineering in general could suit.
Technical knowledge and leadership - ability to perform design review/"Page turn" and gap analysis
Ability to manage design team/consultants and specialist subcontractors (design portion).
Good Commercial awareness
Planning and procurement driven
Emotional Intelligence awareness – flexibility, resilience, and growth mindset; and self-driven/proactive professional
You will have:
Degree preferably MEP and experience.
Ability to organise, plan, programme and manage workloads.
You will have the ability to Influence with good presentation and negotiation skills
You should have good approach to Teamwork and mentor/mentee
Good Delegation skills and the ability to achieve delivery through others – that is a big point since we do not develop design in house, we manage consultants/specialists to achieve the required design deliverables/results.
Ability to lead technical meetings/workshops, and manage technical submission and compliance with URs, building regulations, etc
Understanding of Information Management (RFIs, Document submission and approval process, etc) and document controlling processes (not necessarily performing on daily basis, but understanding the inputs required to the Document Controller and ability to extract/read data provided from doc control systems)
To be proficient in Microsoft Package/Apps (specially excel), Navisworks (Revit is a differential)
Opportunity for Hybrid role: Ireland and site based (in Cork/Limerick area), company office and home-office.
Some travel/site visits (across Ireland, UK and potentially Europe – Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, etc).
