Depot Manager - Ashford, Kent
We are looking for a Depot Manager to join our Rail team in Kent. The Depot Manager will need to be on site 5 days a week and will be responsible for the day to day operations within the depot, overseeing site adherence to key site processes relating to health and safety, security, employee and supplier relations. This role will involve managing building suppliers and materials. This includes managing goods coming in and out of our warehouse, overseeing depot staff and monitoring stock level to ensure all requirements and orders are met.
Responsibilities
The depot maintenance programme including CCTV and Fire/Burglar Alarm.
All owned and hired fleet including the servicing, MOTs and repairs schedule.
All Fuse Rail Plant, PAT testing, calibration, repairs and quarantine area.
Onsite/grounds maintenance i.e. hedge trimming, decorating, painting
Load and unload deliveries using a fork lift truck
Manage deliveries/collections and ensure delivery/collection notes are handed to the office
Ensure daily checks on stores equipment (forklift etc) are carried out before use
Vehicles in the yard/stores are parked correctly in accordance with company guidelines.
Ensure company drivers hand in fuel receipts regularly when attending the yard/stored.
Managing welfare units/ van cleaning and emptying of
Responsible for assigned sections of the Building Maintenance Plan.
Responsible for facility management to include depot waste management, depot environmental controls, security, fire, legionella testing etc.
Fleet management to include periodic inspections, servicing, repair,
Plant management to include inspections, maintenance, portable appliance testing etc.
Carry out and manage asset stock takes using specialist software.
Undertake any other duties reasonably requested.
Be aware of and comply with appropriate systems and working practices that ensure compliance with all relevant statutory regulations and recognised best practice.
Communicate with staff and other stakeholders in a helpful and efficient manner.
Work independently but also as part of a team to assist other members of staff when required.
Respect the confidentiality of information received and adherence to GDPR.
Take responsible care for the health and safety of yourself and other people who may be affected by what you do or do not do at work.
Use all equipment in accordance with your training and instruction and report to the Operations Director any defects in plant, equipment or premises that could present a risk to health and safety.
