Technical Services Manager - UK South Construction Business Unit
Role
We are recruiting for a Technical Services Manager to join our UK South Construction Business Unit. The first project will be £150m Great Ormond Street Hospital project. The Technical Services Manager has responsibility for the design and change process of Building Services Systems across the project, ensuring that they are On Time, On Budget and meet the companies Zero objectives of Safety, Quality and Energy. This role will sit along side the Operational team in a site based design team, to manage change through the project.
Key Responsibilities
Promote the application of the Building Services Department Management Systems and Procedures providing technical support, guidance and direction in overall Design of Projects
Support the Building Services “Value Proposition” and its alignment with the Business Units and Companies Vision, Values and Ambition Objectives.
Assist in delivery of the Building Services Strategy Plan in support of the Business Units Objectives
Support all aspects associated with the MEP Technical and Commercial parts of the overall Project Bid are executed in accordance with the Companies Pre-Construction Manual Procedures
Ensure teams pursue the production of Co-Ordination and Builders Works Drawings for approval and Construction to meet the programme requirements.
Ensure the teams implement the process of tracking of equipment & plant from submittal approvals through to samples and mock ups / ordering / FAT’s / delivery and quality checks is carefully managed.
Experience & Skills
Over 10 years work experience in managing the design on large scale and complex MEP related Projects.
A Mechanical background with an MEP subcontractor and consultancy is preferred.
Professional Competence through operational involvement in all phases of large scale complex projects from Estimating, Pre- Construction, and installation, Commissioning, Demonstration and Handover.
Can demonstrate technical, effective interpersonal and commercial skills necessary to deliver large / multiple MEP Projects
Understanding of H&S policies and live energy practices and have positive safety values and behaviours.
Can demonstrate the drive for importance of implementation of QMS Systems, ITP & Commissioning Management / Handover plans.
Qualifications and Training
Required Qualifications / Training
Mechanical or Electrical Academic / MEP Technical related Qualification
IOSH or equivalent H&S Management Training
Desirable Qualifications / Training
Higher Diploma or Degree in Technical or Construction Related Subject
Has achieved professional accreditation with the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineer at MCIBSE level or equivalent.
