The Senior Research Executive in our Communities Qualitative team is key to our mission. Acting as the connection between our community members and our clients, you’ll propel the engagement strategy, design the research content, moderate our communities and tell the stories of our consumers from different parts of the world to provide actionable insights and impact our clients’ business decisions every day. 

The role:

Senior Research Executive in our qualitative team is key to our mission. The successful candidates will gain broad experience working across research projects in both (i) ad hoc qual and (ii) long-term online communities. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about online research and innovative digital methods. You will enjoy thinking outside the box as to how we can use online methods to get closer to consumers and be excited by the challenge.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Translate client research objectives into engaging studies that deliver thoughtful feedback and actionable results
  • Act as a key project manager on your accounts; communicating timelines, activity, project status, etc. with your teams (both UK and international teams) and clients
  • Create discussion guides, presentations/reports focused on insights and stories from data
  • Get to know your clients business in-depth, becoming an extension of their team so you add value with your insight and act as the voice of their customer
  • Act as the voice of our online communities via daily moderation including reviewing discussions, replying and probing on posts and finding creative ways to enable members to express themselves
  • In case of multi-country projects: brief our local moderators on the study objectives and coordinate fieldwork timelines, supervise moderation (by local moderators) via daily check-ins including reviewing discussions and adding follow-up probes
  • Monitor activity rates in any online communities, flag any issues with participation and inform on the development of proactive engagement tactics
  • Support our clients’ business objectives in all research studies by interpreting, analysing and synthesising research data into meaningful stories
  • Become an expert in Ipsos’ digital platforms and toolkit to leverage features for optimal participation and insight development
  • Your role will include face to face client briefing meetings and designing and managing some of our more complex pitches, proposals and project plans

About you:
To be successful in this role you should bring the following skills and experience:-     
  • Consumer insights to at least Senior Research Executive level, but you may already be a newly promoted Research Manager
  • Qualitative research experience is essential as is a curiosity and enthusiasm for both traditional and digital (e.g. community) methodologies.
  • You may also have some experience of running quantitative research on long-term communities (but this is not essential)
  • Strong story telling and communication skills with ability to present to clients with senior team support
  • A quick learner who enjoys breaking down complex topics and briefs into a tangible, actionable research approach
  • Strong proof-reading and grammar skills
  • Internet and technology savvy; experienced with blogs, social networks, mobile apps and so on
  • Independent, self-starter. You stay cool under pressure and contribute to our very positive office culture! 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
